One of the best things about travelling is the food. Back in Sydney we used to eat tonnes of Asian food – we couldn’t get enough of it. But now we don’t have the same access to Western food (other than good old McDonalds), of course that’s what we’ve been craving. Sadly for us, the Western food here is quite expensive, and we have a rule that we won’t pay the same amount for food here as we would in Sydney…well at least where we can help it.
And so, we have set ourselves the challenge to find the tastiest food in Hong Kong for the best value.
First on the list is Bagels Alley.
With the option to have a simple bagel with a spread, a breakfast bagel (before 11:30am), or a more filling lunch-time option, there’s something for everyone on the menu. But the thing that got us is the combo…if you order a bagel you can get a coffee for just 20 HKD more!
And despite the dire coffee scene here in Hong Kong, this is one of the best coffees we have had since arriving, and they have soy milk which can be quite hard to find.
My favourite was the smoked salmon bagel, with cream cheese, capers, rocket and red onion. Following closely as my second favourite is the Pastrami Bomb, filled with beef pastrami, gherkins, mustard, tomato, Swiss cheese and rocket.
They’re so tasty, you have to try it for yourself!
